Yosemite 1

Day 2
A very early start..on the road for just after 7am! Got to Yosemite and got our pass for all the National Parks...something called inter agency...$80. The chap at the entrance was brilliant with lots of useful tips for making the most of the day. We soon parked up and did the Sequoia walk which was fabulous. Only 25 of them, but amazing. Spotted a chipmunk, American Robin,  small lizard. Then we took the long but beautiful drive to Hetch Hetchy dam then the 5 mile round trip walk to Wapona Waterfall. It was late afternoon, very warm and still, very few people. The views spectacular, especially the waterfall at the end. On our return we passed under some trees on the path which we're making a lot of noise and moving. We looked up to see 3 baby brown bears feeding on the branches, not the least bit bothered about us. We were spellbound, but where was the mum? Took some quick photos and moved on, very reluctantly. Totally chuffed we headed back along the track only to find a couple of mule deer, mum and baby, drinking from a stream right in front of us! What a day... can't believe our beginners luck with wildlife. Would you believe it, apparently all bears in Yosemite are black bears even the brown ones! Everyone we meet is so friendly,   Yosemite valley tomorrow.
Staying in Grove land tonight in room 14 ( juan juanita)and just dined at a Mexican up the road.
